This was our 3rd annual trip to Kumsheen, and our guide Elliott gave us a thrilling ride through the Devils Gorge!
His knowledge and experience navigating the river taking on every set of rapids with skill made it our most exciting and wettest trip yet.
The complimentary photos documenting our rafting trip is really an amazing touch. Thank you to Bethany the photographer for hopping on board!
Very welcoming and hospitable staff all throughout the resort.
Very responsive to emails and requests getting our large group reservation set up, making our overnight stay another fantastic summer adventure.
Thank you again Kumsheen Rafting Resort, see you next summer!

Kumsheen exceeded my expectations in every possible way! My friends and I camped overnight and did a half-day rafting excursion the following afternoon. Before our trip, the customer service team answered all of my questions over email, and were very friendly and helpful. The grounds themselves are beautiful – situated right above the river, the view is gorgeous. There are some trains that might pass through the riverside tracks, but I didn’t find it too loud at all and they do provide free ear plugs at reception in case you’re sensitive to that kind of sound at night.
The campsite is clean, potable water is available in a central location, and there are multiple sites where you can play volleyball or basketball etc (I believe you have to bring your own ball). Their pool and hot tub are well taken care of, and was quite fun on a hot day. At the pool area, they have a reasonably-priced drink stand, along with a gazebo sitting area where an incredibly-talented musician performed from 8-11 pm.
The rafting the next day was worth every penny! It was a colder day, and wetsuits/rain jackets/rain pants were provided. Our rafting guides were friendly, enthusiastic, and clearly very experienced, as we caught an impressive number of white water waves and whirlpools. They made sure that everyone got a chance to sit at the front of the raft for at least a few white water areas, so everyone gets splashed equally (if you’re up for it!). Plus, the photos and videos they take of the rafting are provided free of charge, which was a wonderful surprise.
I seriously can’t say enough good things about the resort. 110% recommended!

I’ve rafted a few rivers but this was absolutely the best experience. Our accommodations were great! We stayed in a king cabin, which was spacious and very comfortable. The food was very good, served in beautiful setting. We stayed July 14-16. I went power rafting for the full day on Saturday. I’ve never done this before, and wasn’t sure if I didn’t just want to paddle raft instead. I’m so glad I did it! It was awesome, great group of people, and our guide Taija was awesome as well. He was very knowledgeable and funny, with great stories along the river. On Sunday I went paddle rafting for the full day. Our guide was Annie, she was awesome as well, funny with great stories as well. This was a completely different experience, awesome as well but different. The same section of river felt very different. This day was made better, as my daughter was able to join me. Both days we had a great burrito buffet lunch by the river. This is a family founded, owned and operated business, and it makes for a superior experience. After rafting we spent time at the pool/hot tub and bar area. Live music at night with family, new friends and some of the guides and staff made for a great time. I wish I could name everyone individually, but the whole staff at this resort made for a perfect getaway with equal parts fun, excitement, rest. We had the good fortune to meet the family who own the resort, which made it easy to see why this place is so worth a visit. We will be making many return trips, in fact we’re going back mid August.

We came up as a group of 13 varying in ages’s with pre-teens, teens and adults. We all had a wonderful time. Everything was super clean, super accessable. Staff were around every corner asking if we needed anything. The live music and pool side bar was an added bonus on the Friday and Saturday evening.
The rafting was so much fun! We did a full day power boating day with Tiaja who had us laughing, screaming and enjoying every moment! Then the dad’s and teens all went again for another half day the next day with Ella. They came back with more great stories and happy faces. The mom’s got to enjoy the coffee bar and sunshine poolside all day.
We enjoyed the power campsites, took advantage of the super clean bathrooms and showers. Our friends stayed in the Uber cute cabins and loved them!
We highly recommend coming out for a river run!

Incredible school trip at Kumsheen!
My friends and I had an amazing time rafting together on the Thompson River. Despite being a large group of 57 students, the whole rafting experience went smoothly. I had a great time rafting with our guide Kirtus and learning about little bits of history about the river. I loved both power rafting and paddle rafting – the weather and water were perfect during my stay. The food was decent considering that the campsite is in a desert, and the accommodations were also pretty good. The staff were all very friendly and sweet. Overall, I give the trip 5 stars since it was the perfect way to start my last year in high school.
Kumsheen Rafting Resort never disappoints!
Another fantastic weekend in the books!
