Wedding Stories

“…the breathtaking natural surroundings and exceptional support of the resort staff make this an exceptional place to get married.”

German born Vanessa and Richmond, BC born Steve met by chance on the horseshoe pitches of Kumsheen in 2011. Wrapping up a Western Canada tour, Vanessa and her family made a sudden deviation from their planned route when they saw the enticing tips of Kumsheen’s teepees from the highway above. Steve, at Kumsheen for the second time on a company retreat, was relaxing (recovering) after a full day Thompson River trip and enjoying a perfect Lytton evening before their group left the next morning.

Their one evening of volleyball, horseshoes, poolside music, campfire and stargazing turned into a year of long distance dating before Vanessa relocated to Canada in 2012.

Every year after they made an annual Labour Day weekend pilgrimage to Kumsheen for a trip down memory river and to celebrate their anniversary. When it came time for marriage in 2016 there wasn’t a hint of doubt where the vows would take place. Surrounded by a close group of friends and overlooking the train tracks and rapids, Steve and Vanessa became married in July in what their guests called the most enjoyable and picturesque wedding they had ever been to.
