NEW FOR 2006
The 2006 Frog Freestyle Event dates have been changed to coincide with the 2006 Lytton River Festival. The Lytton River Festival is organized by the Village of Lytton, many of the Local First Nation's Bands, and many local businesses (including the Kumsheen Rafting Resort).
Non-kayak events over the weekend include street vendors, a pow-wow, goldpanning competitions, a raft race down the Thompson River, and a Saturday night street-dance, downtown Lytton. The street dance has been the highlight of the River Festival over the last two years, with a free admission, a liberal (but somewhat concealed) drinking policy, and a free bus shuttle service running between many of the local campgrounds. Dancers get to experience local legends “Ritchey and the Fendermen,” and other, non-local, great live music.

|
The number of people registered as whitewater kayakers, as well as the water-levels, will dictate the kayak event for the weekend. The event will be Sunday afternoon, and possible rivers include the Stein, Fraser or Thompson. Possible events are: downriver ball race, downriver race, or a freestyle event on one of the Thompson's waves, holes or whirlpool eddylines. Please contact Reel Rooster Productions for more information or to register in the kayak event at this year's Lytton River Festival. |
