Day 1: Spences Bridge to Lytton – Legendary Thompson Day 2: Boston Bar to Yale – Fraser River & Hell’s Gate
This two river getaway includes a run down the dry, desert-like chasms of the majestic Thompson River the first day and through the lush, forested canyons of the lower Fraser River on the second.
The Thompson is the largest tributary of the Fraser and carries about a third of its volume. Running the Mighty Fraser means running big water: Skuzzy, China Bar, Hell’s Gate, Little Hell’s Gate, Saddle Rock and Simpson’s Falls.
The first descent of the Fraser occurred in the fall of 1828 when Governor Simpson of the Hudson’s Bay Company ran it with several large canoes and a dory. It was a frightful journey for Simpson and his Voyageurs. Even today, not many people raft the lower Fraser.
Join us for a run down two of the great rivers of the world.
Day 1: Breakfast, full day rafting with lunch at Nicomen Falls, dinner at Kumsheen. Day 2: Breakfast, shuttle to Boston Bar, full day Fraser River rafting with riverside lunch, return shuttle to Kumsheen.
